The question I'm most often asked, what should I do to grow my business?
The question comes in many different forms:
- What's the best social media platform?
- How often should I email my list?
The answer, there is no right answer.
I know, a little disappointing, right?! I was hoping for an answer, too!
There are a thousand right answers. The trick is to find the one that works for you and your audience.
I had a client; we'll call her Jane. She hired me to help her sell her course. I very confidently advised, focus on telling them they can make a living—a great textbook tactic. We should have killed that launch. It did, eh-okay.
With one small adjustment, we went from eh to sold out.
What was the adjustment?
Listening. Yep, that's it.
We asked questions, and we listened. We listened for Jane's passion, for her audience's passion. We listened for the whispers from the spirit that guides us when we stop giving directions and start listening.
The next campaign we ran focused on the answers we received. We went from eh to record-breaking sales.
How to Listen for the Whispers.
Get quiet. Be open to the answers that come.
No matter how crazy they might seem.
Write them all down. Explore them. Brainstorm with a trusted partner.
Choose the ones you want to experiment with first.
